Description: The original Nerd voice for Unreal Tournament was created and voiced by Andrew Raines. With his permission, I extracted the wave files from that voice pack and created a voice pack that would work in Unreal Tournament 2004. My name is Jim Love. I also made sure all the orders are there for each game type.

Andrew Raines created the voice pack using his own voice. He was able to sound quite nerdie. Immagine if you will, someone talking with his nose plugged combined with a whining voice. He made up some really Nerdy, but funny taunts such as...

Ewwh! You got DNA on my boots!
You got brains. Too bad they're on the wall.
Pocket protector, protect me!
I calculated that would happen.
E=MC Dead.
This is for the Federation!

I believe there are 26 taunts, all the orders for each game type, 3 Friendly fire and quite a few in the "Other" catagory.

Note: Since I was using pre-recorded wav files, I did not have the correct wav files to use for some of the orders. There were 4 orders I had no matching wav files for. So I picked a few of the existing taunts (that seemed most appropriate) I already had and used them for 4 of the orders that I had no wav file for. For example, while the order is suppose to say "Get the ball", it actually says, I need some backup. But don't worry, the bots will get the ball as ordered. Same with the other orders. Even if they don't sound right, they do order the bots to do specific things and they will obey.

How to Install: Unzip all files and place the Nerdvoice.u and Nerdvoice.int files into your UT2004\System foler. THAT'S IT! Now, select the name of the voice from the drop-down voice menu in the game once you've chosen your character. And yes, you can do this with bots, too. Just hit 'Edit' and then change the voice in the menu. :)

Online Play: To use this voicepack in online games, the server you're playing on must have
the voicepack installed. In order to do this, the server administrator must:
I) Put the necessary files into the UT2004 System folder (the 'U' and 'INT' files).
II) Edit the UT2004.ini file to include the new package(s). IE: add ServerPackages=Nerdvoice
under the [Engine.GameEngine] section of the UT2004.ini file.
III) Restart the server.

Online Play Note: Certain people have stated that they're having trouble using their
voicepacks online, due to conflictions with the anti cheating patches that have been released.
Some servers seem to accept the packs, and other don't. I don't really have an answer to this,
I'm afraid. Just be careful not to select your voicepack for online use unless you know for
certain that the server you're playing on has it installed. If you ignore this warning, you
may be accused of "cheating" by certain servers. Just be careful, okay?

Distribution: Feel free to distribute this file in whatever way you like,
as long as this readme file is included - unaltered.

Thanks for reading, and have a nice day. Jim Love
